Injured eagle found in Urbanna was shot
An injured and emaciated American Bald Eagle that had been shot was humanely euthanized on Monday, February 6, reported the Wildlife Center of Virginia. A Middlesex Animal Control Officer picked up the wounded eagle on Sunday. The bird had been found near Urbanna Creek on the ground, unable to fly or run.

Middlesex man convicted of 2 felonies after boat crash on Urbanna Creek
Jeremy D. Adams, 31, of Middlesex was found guilty in Middlesex Circuit Court Thursday of 2 felony charges and a misdemeanor related to a boating accident that occurred last summer on Urbanna Creek: unauthorized use of a boat, and breaking & entering, both felonies. He also was found guilty of a misdemeanor—operating a boat while intoxicated.

Heartless politician keeps on pumping
John D. (Jack) Miller Jr., 62, is a 17-year veteran of the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors. On November 8, 2011 he became the first elected official ever to hold office without a human heart. Miller’s heart was removed September 15 and he has been living with a mechanical heart ever since.

Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell announced this week that Fulcrum Concepts LLC, a veteran-owned small business that provides full spectrum integrated solutions to customers with unique tactical requirements, will invest $4.6 million to establish an operation in King and Queen County at the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport.
