A storm for the record books
Last week’s winter storm, named “Jonas,” was one for the record books. The storm dropped record amounts of snow and sleet on some Mid-Atlantic and New England states on Friday and over the weekend. The Middlesex Water Authority (MWA) is considering reopening the half-price signup period for water customers in the Deltaville area. The proposed water system needs 614 customers, but has only 424.

Dominion Virginia Power did not appeal the State Corporation Commission (SCC) decision halting construction of transmission towers across the Rappahannock River pending a full SCC review. The deadline to file an appeal was January 11.

Tax-Aide volunteers will be at the Deltaville Branch of the Middlesex County Public Library on Wednesdays, February 10, March 2 and March 30, and The Cryer Center on Route 33 in Locust Hill on Wednesdays, February 24 and March 16, to assist people with their income tax preparation and filing.
