Runoff study completed
Now, property owners have options to build—at no cost to them—rain gardens, constructed wetlands or other things that will catch and hold stormwater runoff giving pollutants a place to settle. The goal is to slow or stop runoff from washing sediment and other pollutants into Urbanna Creek.

$10,000 reward offered in murder
July 11, 2018 marked one year since Margaret “Peggy” Thornton Lammers, 60, was found murdered in the family’s vacation home on Stove Point Road in Deltaville. The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction in this case.

Huge oyster reef being built in the Piankatank
imageOne hundred tons of granite were dumped near the mouth of the Piankatank River on Wednesday, July 18, in an effort to build the largest oyster reef “on the planet,” said Andy Lacatell, Virginia Chesapeake Bay Director of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Richmond.
