Middlesex EDA to discuss business proposal for historic school structure
Rappahannock Oyster Company, a Topping-based restaurant and oyster aquaculture business, is interested in restoring the former St. Clare Walker High School agriculture and vocational building at Cooks Corner and converting it into a restaurant and a micro-brewery, Jamaica District supervisor Wayne Jessie told the Middlesex NAACP at its meeting on June 27.

School system to study feasibility of solar power project
The Middlesex County School Board agreed at its June 12 meeting to work toward having a feasibility study of a potential solar panel project that would be located on the grounds behind Middlesex Elementary School in Locust Hill.

Town council approves $3,000 matching grant for Arts in the Middle
The Urbanna Town Council has not discussed the 2017-18 (FY18) budget very much this year. After all, the town real estate tax rate will remain at 23 cents per $100 of value, and the in-town water rate minimum is still $14 per month for up to 3,000 gallons.

Oyster replenishment effort
