Beasts of burden
imageUp until the early 20th century animals such as teams of oxen provided power on land. These beasts of burden built civilizations. They were the “bulldozers” and trucks of ancient man. With them, humans could clear land, plow fields and pull carts loaded with grain to be stored for the winter.

Christmas Friends shopping begins

Fire destroys Urbanna home
imageThe home, located on the corner of Howard Street and Rappahannock Avenue, caught fire about 5 a.m. in the area of the furnace and spread throughout the house, said fireman Joe Moschetti of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) of Urbanna.
