Proposed 5% Middlesex lodging tax hits roadblock
During a joint finance committee meeting of the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (BOS) and county school board on January 25 it was revealed that 3% of a new proposed 5% county lodging tax is not be possible in 2018-19 (FY19).

Grant-funded study to focus on town’s storm water runoff
Urbanna’s storm water runoff will be studied through a $45,000 grant awarded by the non-profit National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, said Paula Jasinski of Chesapeake Environmental Communications (CEC), which is the grant’s applicant and recipient.
