After long hospitilzation, many prayers, Kirstin Cole is back home
Kirstin Cole has returned to her home after being hospitalized from a car accident on August 18, 2013. Shortly after the accident, her family placed a purple and green ribbon around the tree involved in her accident. On Sunday, January 26, Kirstin, her family and members of the Middlesex County Volunteer Rescue Squad met at the tree to cut off the ribbon.

The smell of smoke awoke a mother in time for her to get her infant and escape their burning mobile home on Thursday, January 23, about 4:47 a.m. Outside the temperature was about 9 degrees. Dressed in pajamas, robe and slippers, she ran to a neighbor’s home and knocked on the door.

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors agreed in December to settle an unpaid overtime and wage lawsuit against the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office out of court. The suit was brought last year by three former county deputies.

Several months ago, Robert T. Brown, president of the Maryland Watermen’s Association, had Eugene Evans of Crisfield, Maryland, fiberglass the hull of his wooden work boat. When Brown brought the boat to Evans, the longtime boatbuilder and former waterman looked at it and said under his breath, “That’s a Maylon Green boat.”
