HRSD study to focus on providing sewer to several areas in Middlesex
The Middlesex Board of Supervisors is considering the feasibility of providing sewer service to areas other than Deltaville. In January 2017, the BOS authorized Hampton Roads Sanitation District to focus its study only on the Deltaville area, in anticipation of a proposed drinking water system being built.

Driver escapes serious injury in Route 17 crash
imageA pickup truck and a tractor-trailer collided on Monday, June 12, about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 17 Bypass and Route 17 Business near Hardee’s in Saluda. According to motorists who had been following the tractor-trailer and witnessed the crash, the tractor-trailer was traveling north on Route 17 Bypass when a pickup truck pulled into its path from the stop sign at Route 17 Business.

Proposed sawmill denied
Would you want to live next to a sawmill? That’s the question asked by Jamaica District supervisor Wayne Jessie on June 6 as the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors (BOS) pondered a special exception application for a sawmill in a Low Density Rural zone.
