They say the first person to eat a raw oyster was brave . . . or very hungry. During the 59th Urbanna Oyster Festival on Friday, Paula Johnson decided it was time to try a raw oyster. “She thinks she’s missing something,” said her friend and oyster mentor Lisa Ramey.

At the Urbanna Firehouse on Friday, November 4, Hailey Walton was crowned Queen of the 59th Urbanna Oyster Festival and Hannah Lambert was crowned Little Miss Spat. A “spat” is a baby oyster.
