What about Mae?
Mae Rosell’s son just graduated from Virginia Tech and will soon be a first lieutenant in the U.S. Armed Forces. Ordinarily, graduation would be a proud day for a mother. Unfortunately, Mae was unable to attend graduation because she is incarcerated at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center (MPRSC) in Saluda.

Standing in the Dragon Run State Forest in King and Queen County on May 21, Governor Timothy M. Kaine announced that Virginia and The Nature Conservancy have purchased 4,188 acres of “environmentally extraordinary land” within the Dragon Run watershed from the Hancock Timber Resource Group.

Father John Boddie, who served as pastor of the Catholic parishes in Middlesex and Mathews counties for almost 12 years, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009. An estimated 600 people attended his funeral on Saturday at Francis De Sales Church in Mathews, including Virginia Governor Tim Kaine.

Convicted child molester Arthur R. Bracke of Middlesex has appealed his six felony convictions to the Virginia Court of Appeals. In his petition of appeal, Bracke alleges three errors were made in his case by Middlesex Circuit Court Judge William Shaw III.
