Middlesex IDA has extensive powers
The broad powers of Industrial Development Authorities (IDA) were granted in the 1950s to foster economic development. The IDA “is its own political subdivision,” said Robert McClintock Jr., research director with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.

New zoning law focuses on ‘adult use’ businesses
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors voted to amend the county zoning ordinance on June 19 to include provisions regulating “adult uses,” including definitions.

Work zones to cause delays on the Norris Bridge
One day bridge inspection on June 27; trenching operation June 28 through July 6. Work zones will limit traffic to one travel lane on the bridge. The bridge is located on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River at White Stone.
