Leash law could face referendum
Urbanna residents turned out Monday—again filling the town hall—to oppose the latest proposal that would stop dogs from running free in Urbanna. In a new twist, Urbanna residents may get a chance to vote on a referendum in May to decide if a leash law for dogs should be approved.

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors has agreed to allow the county sheriff’s office to do in-house maintenance and repairs to county-owned police vehicles—provided a certified maintenance person is approved in advance by county administrator Charles Culley.
