Entries sought for 2010 Oyster Festival poster
The Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation has announced a contest for the 53rd Urbanna Oyster Festival, set for November 5-6. One of the many festival traditions is an annual poster or print. This year, the foundation will again have a festival poster and wants to include everyone in the Commonwealth of Virginia in the project.

Urbanna man dies at crash scene
Joey Palmer Pugh of Urbanna was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday, July 28, following a single-vehicle crash in Urbanna, according to First Sgt. Kevin Barrick of the Virginia State Police's Gloucester office.

Decision on boat crash charges expected this week
As of Monday, August 2, no charges had been filed against Steven Nixon of Montpelier, the operator of the boat that crashed into Channel Marker #10 in the Rappahannock River on the night of July 5, said John Bull, a public relations officer with the VMRC.
