Acclaimed Founders’ Day celebrates continuing birth of ‘our town’
As Virginia Street winds its way down to the town marina it passes an old building sitting atop a hill. Three hundred years ago the road would have had people rolling barrels nearly double their size up and down, all filled to the brim with the “old king” tobacco.

Antique and classic planes, cars and boats will converge for the 19th annual Wings, Wheels & Keels show to be held Saturday, September 27, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Hummel Airfield on Route 3 at Topping.

On August 20 Middlesex Sheriff David Bushey gladly accepted the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Ice Bucket Challenge. Bushey’s father died in 1996 of ALS and since that time his family has donated to ALS research.

The Urbanna Planning Commission will again discuss the town code requirements for “public access to the water” and open space when it meets on Thursday, August 28, at 7 p.m. at the town hall.
