Crashes claim three lives
imageThousands of lives are shattered in motor vehicle crashes each year. This week three Middlesex County residents, who were not wearing safety belts, died in separate motor vehicle crashes, reported the State Police.

Talks on proposed athletic complex continue
Several years ago, a high school coach suggested that they name the proposed athletic complex at MHS after Syd Thrift, a Middlesex native who served in many administrative roles in Major League baseball. The proposed sports complex was, in part, to honor Thrift for his contributions, but also to encourage contributions from his many associates and others who knew and admired him.

Capacity crowd attends King breakfast

South is new chair of planning commission
At its January 12 meeting, the Middlesex Planning Commission elected Marilyn South as chair and John England vice chair for 2012. The commission set its meeting date and time as the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the historic courthouse in Saluda.
