Creek’s ‘Tier III’ status tabled
The Exceptional State Water designation, also known as Tier III or Outstanding National Resource Waters, is designed to prevent permanent or long-term degradation or impairment of surface waters entering the creek. The Department of Environmental Quality has requested comments from county supervisors on the possible designation for Urbanna Creek.

VIDEO: Clara Banks, 82, of Topping, died when the SUV she was riding in was struck from the rear and overturned on Tuesday, said Sergeant G.T. Mathias of the Virginia State Police. A State Police accident reconstruction team worked at the scene until 8:30 p.m. VDOT set up signs and detoured traffic around the crash site.
