Vandals hit MES, sports complex
Two acts of vandalism that appear to be related took place either late Thursday night or early Friday morning at Middlesex Elementary School (MES) and the Middlesex Sports Complex, reported Sgt. V.A. (Trey) Blake of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.

Appraiser: Real estate values are nearly flat
Preliminary data indicates that 132 houses were sold in Middlesex County between July 2009 and December 31, 2010, and those houses sold at 99.6% of their 2008 assessed value, said Steven I. Wampler, a partner in Wampler-Eanes Appraisal Group, which is currently reassessing Middlesex real estate.

Fire and rescue squads need more volunteers
Richard E. Burch Jr. of the Virginia Services Board presented “A Report of Findings and Recommendation” with regards to local fire and emergency medical services at a Middlesex County Board of Supervisors meeting on March 15.

Free clothing fair for children is Monday at MES
A Children’s Clothing Fair, sponsored by the Middlesex Partners In Progress, the staff of Middlesex Elementary School (MES), and volunteers from various community organizations, will be held on Monday, March 28, at MES from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
