Man rescued after jumping off Urbanna bridge
"It was an attempted suicide," said John Bull, public relations director for VMRC. "He left his car at the end of the bridge with the lights flashing, and walked over and jumped off the side." According to Shelton, when asked why he had jumped off the bridge, the man replied, "I'm just tired of living!"

Due to budget cuts, the Middlesex County Public Library Board will be forced to reduce hours of operation at both branches, said library executive director Sherry Inabinet this week. Starting September 1, the Deltaville Branch will be closed on Thursdays and the Urbanna Branch will be closed on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
