Modular sewage systems may be an alternative
The Middlesex Board of Supervisors was told on Sept. 7 about a new sewage treatment system that might keep the county from having to spend millions of dollars on a conventional plant to serve the Saluda area. Saluda District supervisor Pete Mansfield and county administrator Charles Culley presented the plan to supervisors at their Sept. 7 meeting.

Old book stirs memories
imageA book of poems written by Urbanna Elementary School 5th-graders about 45 years ago has surfaced. The 31 students in the 1964-65 fifth grade class of the late Louise Mercer each wrote a poem about “The Wonders of the Universe,” which was that year’s theme.
