Supervisor says Middlesex violated Procurement Act
At a recent election forum, the question surfaced as to whether Middlesex County always follows the Virginia Procurement Act. This act requires competitive negotiations and bids for projects costing $50,000 or more. The short answer is “yes,” according to Middlesex County Administrator Charles Culley.

Allison Crittenden, Abigail Smiley reign over the 54th Oyster Festival
imageAllison Crittenden was crowned Queen of the 54th Urbanna Oyster Festival, and Abigail Smiley was crowned Little Miss Spat last Friday in Taber Park. Crittenden, of Deltaville, is the first Oyster Festival Queen who also was previously chosen Little Miss Spat (2000).

Voters may still vote without their new voter information card
Eligible voters who do not have their new voter information card may still vote using alternate identification such as a valid Virginia Driver’s License. A few localities individually mailed their own voter cards.
