Bay Aging responds to recent state reports
In a recent review of Bay Aging operations, a state agency found over-charges to a taxpayer funded program intended to help low-income families, the elderly and disabled. Bay Aging also was faulted for allowing related senior executives—the president, his wife and son—to co-sign checks.

‘Public access-way’ issue heats up
Even when English is well written it can be interpreted differently — when it’s vague and is the law, things can get tangled to the point of a lawsuit being threatened. Consider one sentence in the Urbanna Zoning Ordinance: “A public access-way to the water shall be provided for each 100 feet of water frontage the project occupies.”

The importance of servicing your boat

Fire burns 524 acres at Jamaica
image“They (homeowners) were burning debris earlier in the week and thought they had the fire out,” said Collier. “On Saturday, they noticed it was smoking and attempted to put it out, but the wind made it jump into the woods.” The fire was first reported at 12:10 p.m. Saturday.
