Deltaville: One year later, the rebuilding continues

Mill Creek Landing at Wake is filling fast
imageThe public boat ramp at Mill Creek Landing at Wake is filling in with sand, and this has boaters concerned over how much longer the landing will be usable. Currently, most boaters have to wait for high tide to unload or load boats at the landing. The boat ramp is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF).

Public hearing on budget is Tuesday
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, on the proposed county budget for 2012-13 (FY13) in the historic courthouse courtroom in Saluda. The budget totals $19,159,533 and includes a 3-cent real estate tax hike.

Town council seeks to revoke condo SUP
It’s been more than five years since the Urbanna Town Council voted 4-3 to approve a Special Use Permit (SUP) for Potomac Timber Investments LLC to build 14 condominiums at the Urbanna Yachting Center. However, the town later rejected the site plan for the condos. The developer responded with a $4.5 million lawsuit against the town.
