Hearing on town leash law Monday
The days of dogs running free in Urbanna could be numbered. On Monday, January 25, at 7 p.m. the Urbanna Town Council will hold a public hearing on a proposed animal ordinance. The recent move toward a leash law began with complaints in July 2009.

VIDEO: The legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was remembered on Monday as nearly 200 people gathered for the fifth annual King Breakfast at The Beacon in Topping. Rev. Parham used a word from the Akan people of West Africa. “Sankofa” is a word that “teaches us that we must go back to our roots in order to move forward.”

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors learned at a January 5 meeting that county and Town of Urbanna codes will be reviewed as part of the Phase III plan of the Chesapeake Bay Act.
