Middlesex Land Use Taxation participants are now paying more
On January 1, 2012, the taxable value for property receiving Land Use Taxation benefits increased in Middlesex County. Because this land has been assigned higher values, property owners in the Land Use program will have to pay more taxes this year.

Zoar Church: The rebuilding begins
imageThe work of rebuilding Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville began last week. The church sanctuary was destroyed by a tornado on April 16, 2011. Last week debris was cleared from the basement, which was then filled in. The new church will not have a basement.

Middlesex IDA has extensive powers
The broad powers of Industrial Development Authorities (IDA) were granted in the 1950s to foster economic development. The IDA “is its own political subdivision,” said Robert McClintock Jr., research director with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.

Habitat for Humanity: ‘We truly have been blessed’
