Urbanna BZA could vote on marina appeal Monday
Attorneys for condominium developer Potomac Timber Investments and the Urbanna Town Council have been trying for two months to reach an out-of-court settlement of a marina zoning appeal and a $4 million lawsuit. The appeal and lawsuit are separate issues, but are connected in that they both involve the same 1.5 acres at Urbanna Yachting Center.

After four years of planning and construction, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society (GMHS) has moved to its new facility at 6722 Sutton Road in Gloucester County. The shelter will host a grand opening event for the community on Saturday, August 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m.

The Town of Urbanna and the 65-foot schooner “Serenity” have partnered to bring a unique sailing experience to the area. Serenity is now permanently home-ported at the Urbanna Town Marina at Upton’s Point, said Captain Laura Lohse.
