Guilty pleas entered in two robbery cases
David Allen Denoncourt pleaded guilty in Middlesex Circuit Court on Monday to the robberies of Tall Chief Market at Syringa and Quarles Convenience Store at Locust Hill, which occurred on February 7 and 8, 2009.

During school budget talks Monday, Middlesex School Superintendent Rusty Fairheart reviewed strategies and progress of the county school system. Under strategies, Fairheart said one of the main goals of the school system is to continue to hire highly-effective teachers, administrators and staff.

At a board of supervisors budget work session on February 23, county administrator Charles Culley explained Middlesex County’s real estate property tax woes. “I don’t see how you can survive another year with a 35-cent tax rate,” Culley told the board at that meeting. “You’ve got enough fixed expenses that you will have to raise taxes.
