Construction of $2.7M Bay Transit facility planned
On April 27, more than 30 community members, officials and area politicians attended a groundbreaking celebration at the building site. This event marks the start of a project to update Bay Transit’s operational capabilities, a critical step in providing better transportation service and allowing Bay Transit to expand future services.

For the taxpayers’ convenience, bills may be paid at any local branch of BB&T, Citizens and Farmers Bank or EVB. Also, a drop box for 24-hour payment service is available at the Woodward Building in the courthouse complex in Saluda.

Shortly after 2 p.m. on April 29, Middlesex Sheriff deputies on patrol were advised to be on the lookout for a Jeep Cherokee with personalized Virginia license plates that was being operated in the Wake and Topping areas by a driver who was drinking and had a shotgun in the vehicle with him.
