High-speed chase leads to arrest of NC man
imageA 38-year-old man is facing multiple charges including “felony eluding” after he allegedly led police on a high-speed chase on Tuesday afternoon, said Captain M.E. Sampson of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office. According to police, Joshua Hilliard Cathey surrendered to police after his SUV crashed into a parked car at Cooks Corner.

Employees sought for three town staff positions
The Town of Urbanna is advertising for three staff positions. Resumes are due by August 3. The town is seeking a director of maintenance, parks, and recreation. The salary range is $23,000 to $27,000 plus benefits.

‘Welcome to Historic Urbanna’ sign stolen
A large sign that has welcomed travelers to Urbanna for years was stolen the night of July 19-20, said John Halpin, a Town of Urbanna employee. The oval wooden sign measures 36 inches tall and 42 inches wide. It is beige with black lettering.
