Bracke pleads guilty to arson
Bracke admitted he set fire to the house he was living in on Mill Wharf Road in Wake on November 17, 2007. Judge William H. Shaw III will sentence Bracke, 62, on November 5 at 9:30 a.m. on the arson conviction, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

VMRC to hear appeal of wetlands board decision
The Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) will hear an appeal of a recent decision by the Middlesex County Wetlands Board. Thirty-one people are opposed to the decision to approve the modified project.

Catman launches a big one
Last week, the firm launched, with the help of two very tall cranes, a 65-by-25-foot luxury vessel into Urbanna Creek for a Georgetown, South Carolina, buyer. It is the largest boat the firm has ever built.
