Lewis Filling of Urbanna, who is charged with five counts of felony embezzlement. a Middlesex Circuit Court Grand Jury indicted Filling with embezzling more than $50,000 from the Central Middlesex Volunteer Rescue Squad of Urbanna.

The Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) plans to add a three-bay addition to its existing firehouse in Urbanna. Richwine’s report recommends that HARB approve the firehouse design. Calves’ appeal argues, “The proposed addition is out of character with the present structure and the Virginia Street streetscape.”

On the morning of April 2, Mrs. Clarkson was rousted from sleep by her son Clint, yelling that the house was on fire. Directly under Mrs. Clarkson’s bedroom, the living room was burning, belching thick smoke that swirled into her bedroom when Clint opened her door.

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss redistricting the county into five voting districts. The proposed redistricting is in response to 2010 census data.
