Three crashes send several to hospital
Three serious vehicle crashes in four days kept fire and rescue workers busy in Middlesex County. The first crash occurred about 3:15 a.m. on Friday, April 10, on Route 602 (Old Virginia Street) at Remlik, about three miles west of Urbanna.

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2009-10 (FY10) budget on Tuesday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse in Saluda. The $17,868,474 proposal calls for a 6.71% decrease in funding when compared to the current FY09 budget.

On March 31, U.S. District Court Judge Henry H. Kennedy Jr., sided with several environmental groups that opposed the reservoir. On the big points, Kennedy found several of the U.S. Army Corps' and EPA's decisions leading up to permitting the reservoir to be "arbitrary and capricious."
