Airport hangars fully rented
On March 22, the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors met with the Hummel Field Airport Committee. The airport committee invited the supervisors to view the county's 10 new airplane hangars. The hangars were paid for with $110,000 from the sale of timber and surplus land at the airport in Topping.

As proposed by the finance committee, the FY11 Town of Urbanna budget includes a 2% raise for town employees. It does not propose any tax increases, but includes a $12 per year increase in the water rate for those who use the minimum amount of water.

During the days of segregation in Middlesex Public Schools, St. Clare Walker High School was the only all-black high school in the county. The current Cooks Corner Office Complex at Cooks Corner housed the school. Basketball games were played there in what is now the Tom Carter Memorial Gym.
