Break-ins occur at Deltaville businesses
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office is investigating break-ins that occurred at two related businesses in Deltaville this week, reported Captain M.E. Sampson of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office. Parts City and its sister business, Deltaville Auto Marine, which is located next door, were broken into sometime between 5 p.m. September 30, and 8 a.m. October 1.

County IDA considering bond request
A refinancing proposal by Rappahan-nock Westminster-Canterbury (RWC), an assisted living facility for seniors in Irvington, could net the Middlesex Industrial Development Authority (IDA) $22,000 in annual income.

Elevator debate continues
A proposal to consider appropriating $210,000 to install an elevator in the Woodward Building in Saluda met with further debate at the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors meeting on September 18.

‘Tourism’ meeting is Monday
Representatives from the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) will be in Urbanna on Monday, October 1, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. to discuss ways of promoting Middlesex as a tourist destination. Judy Watkins of the VTC said the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck are “authentic Virginia . . . “These small towns are what tourists are looking for today.”
