County will keep current landfill engineering firm
Testing at the old county landfill has revealed that one test well has dichlorothane contamination at a level above state and federal groundwater standards. The contaminated well is very close to a vehicle repair shop at the landfill that was once used by the county to maintain trash trucks. County officials believe the contaminant came from that old shop.

George Henry Roye, an 80-year-old Locust Hill resident, was charged with first-degree murder on Monday, May 16, in the shooting death of his son-in-law, 55-year-old Charles Purnell Scott Sr., said a Middlesex Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
