Sixth local fire in 12 weeks
The building, owned by Linda and Chuck Leasure, caught fire about 10:35 a.m. and the Middlesex emergency dispatcher broadcast the call for firefighters to respond to Al’s Auto Body, which is in the front part of the building.

Urbanna Christmas Parade set for Friday
The Urbanna Christmas Parade and other holiday activities will be held this Friday, Dec. 5, in downtown Urbanna. About 70 units will be in the 7 p.m. parade. All parade participants are asked to be at the parade lineup in the old Urbanna Lumber parking lot at 6 p.m.

Cost of foster children concerns supervisors
Board chairman Kenneth W. Williams said there are more foster children in Middlesex County than York County. “York County has a population of 35,000 and we have a population of 10,000,” he said.
