Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell announced this week that Fulcrum Concepts LLC, a veteran-owned small business that provides full spectrum integrated solutions to customers with unique tactical requirements, will invest $4.6 million to establish an operation in King and Queen County at the Middle Peninsula Regional Airport.

Water View man injured in crash
Marshall Bagby of Water View, who was not wearing his seat belt, was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on Sunday evening, said Virginia State Trooper S.T. Smith. Bagby, 50, was flown by helicopter to the Medical Center of Virginia in Richmond and remained in the trauma unit as of Monday, said Trooper Smith.

Three arrested in K&Q in connection with break-ins
Since November of 2011, King and Queen County has seen a rash of breaking and entering into homes throughout the county. There have been 11 confirmed break-ins in the areas of Plainview, Shacklefords, St. Stephens Church, Walkerton and Indian Neck.

Voting rights decision made by county in 2007 draws criticism
The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors decision in 2007 to “bail out” of Section 5 of the U.S. Voting Rights Act of 1965 was criticized at a recent board meeting. The National Voting Rights Act was signed to make it illegal to have discriminatory voting practices in all states. This gave the U.S. Justice Department oversight over voting procedures to ensure fairness to all.
