Bath Salts: a synthetic epidemic

While legislation has made some Bath Salt compounds illegal, the damage continues from toxic substances found in other synthetic drugs, whose complex chemical formula allows them to skirt the law—for now.

Urbanna Creek cleanup added to CIP
The Middlesex County Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a planning guide used by county supervisors. The main purpose of the CIP is to prioritize county needs. Just because a proposed project appears on the CIP, it doesn’t mean the county is obligated to complete that project.

Only 8 days until the Urbanna Oyster Festival
When the leaves change color and the night air is crisp, it’s time for the Urbanna Oyster Festival. This year’s 55th edition of the area’s premier fall festival takes center stage Friday & Saturday, November 2-3. There’ll be food, bands, dancing, performances, crafts, the queen crowning & 2 parades.

Mayor, council candidates are running unopposed
On Tuesday November 6, Urbanna voters will cast ballots for mayor and six town council seats. All seven positions are unopposed. Although Janet Smith’s name will still be on the ballot, she has withdrawn from the election and is not a candidate for mayor. Current Mayor Donald Richwine is seeking re-election.
