Town council tables hotel-to-condo plan
On Monday, the Urbanna Town Council tabled a Special Use Permit (SUP) application submitted by the owner of the former hotel, the Bank of Lancaster, and the contract purchaser, Herman Beckstoffer.
On May 12, the Urbanna Planning Commission recommended approval of the site plan.

On May 10, the Middlesex County Board of Supervisors approved changing the number of county voting districts from three to five. Two new districts will be added and each of the five districts will have one representative on the board of supervisors.

Coyote activity has been reported in the Remlik area where two were recently shot, one was hit by a car, and another one tried to carry off a small dog. With no natural enemies other than humans, the local coyote population is increasing.
