Cougar sighted
imageGill was at her home on LaGrange Creek with Joanna Forrer Worley when they saw the cougar last month. “I saw what I first thought was the head of a huge strange-looking dog come up over the river bank,” said Gill. “It was soon obvious that it was not a dog but a cougar.”

Judge dismisses election charge against Smith
At the conclusion of a preliminary hearing on January 7, Middlesex General District Court Judge Jeff Shaw dismissed charges against Janet H. Smith of Urbanna, who was arrested on October 2 and charged with a felony for filing “false statements” on an election candidate form.
