Town hires accounting consultants
On Monday, December 19, town council voted to spend up to $5,000 for accounting support services. Consultants with the Virginia Municipal League (VML) and the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) will assist the town in restructuring accounts, developing more useful financial reports and enhancing internal controls.

Urbanna is less than six months into the current fiscal year and its budget is already “underfunded” for salaries, town administrator John Bailey told town council at its December 9 work session.
