Condo developers present proposal in dispute
Condominium developers are trying to overcome issues raised by the Town of Urbanna regarding a proposed site plan for 14 condos on Urbanna Creek, called Urbanna Landing. The town and developers are attempting to compromise to avoid a trial to settle a lawsuit filed by the developers.

The Middlesex Board of Supervisors was told on Sept. 7 about a new sewage treatment system that might keep the county from having to spend millions of dollars on a conventional plant to serve the Saluda area. Saluda District supervisor Pete Mansfield and county administrator Charles Culley presented the plan to supervisors at their Sept. 7 meeting.

A book of poems written by Urbanna Elementary School 5th-graders about 45 years ago has surfaced. The 31 students in the 1964-65 fifth grade class of the late Louise Mercer each wrote a poem about “The Wonders of the Universe,” which was that year’s theme.
