No burning before 4 p.m.
Virginia’s 4 p.m. Burning Law went into effect Friday, February 15—the start of spring fire season in Virginia. The law prohibits burning before 4 p.m. each day until April 30 if the fire is in, or within 300 feet of, woodland, brushland or fields containing dry grass or other flammable materials.

New Urbanna administrator: ‘I feel like I’ve found a home’
Brandon Waddell, 41, began working as the new Urbanna Town Administrator on February 19. “I’m real excited about the opportunity,” he said. A Hampton native, Waddell lives in West Point with his wife and children.

Three injured in Rt. 17 crash near Food Lion
An Urbanna couple was seriously injured in a crash at the intersection of Route 17 Bypass in front of Food Lion, reported First Sergeant C. Sterling of the Gloucester Office of the Virginia State Police.
