School officials, supervisors discuss budget concerns

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday not to restructure $2 million in county debt. The restructuring would have saved 3 cents on the real estate tax rate for the next two years. However, restructuring the $2 million also would have added $527,917 in interest to the life of the debt.

The Middlesex County Republican Committee held its 2010 mass meeting at Cooks Corners on March 17 and selected 29 delegates to Virginia’s First Congressional District Convention. The meeting also unanimously re-elected Lee Davis of Hartfield as the committee’s chairman for another two-year term.
