Fire destroys home; 23 firemen battled the blaze
The brick home of Elmore W. Holmes on Zion Branch Road near Saluda was destroyed by fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 7. Holmes had burns on his back, arms and face, said Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) Chief Ray Burch.
