Boater admits to consuming alcohol before crash
Steven Wayne Nixon, the driver of the boat that crashed into a channel marker on July 5 in the Rappahannock River, admitted to Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) officers that he was drinking alcoholic beverages "intermittently" throughout the day of the crash, according to a search warrant filed in Gloucester County Circuit Court.

Boat crashes into channel marker; one person dies, nine are injured
imageA 25-year-old Glen Allen woman died and nine people were seriously injured in a boating accident in the Rappahannock River between Water View and Morattico at about 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 5, according to John Bull, the director of public relations at the Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC).
