Daylight Savings Time To Begin
"Spring Forward" by setting your clocks ahead one hour this Sunday. Daylight saving time goes into effect at 2 a.m. March 8. This is only the third year that daylight saving time has begun the second Sunday in March.

March roared in like a lion Sunday night and Monday morning as a major winter storm came up the East Coast and dumped 4 to 6 inches of snow on top of ice in most areas of Middlesex. The storm was accompanied by high winds and frigid temperatures.

Local African American leaders have proposed that civil rights pioneer Irene Morgan be memorialized with a highway marker in Saluda near the site where she was arrested in 1944 for failing to move to the “colored” section at the back of a bus. Morgan’s landmark decision pre-dated the more-famous case of Rosa Parks, who in 1955 refused to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
