It will be remembered primarily as the “year of the tornado” in Middlesex County, but 2011 also included several other local disasters, including an earthquake, a hurricane and a massive wildfire.

On Monday, December 19, town council voted to spend up to $5,000 for accounting support services. Consultants with the Virginia Municipal League (VML) and the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) will assist the town in restructuring accounts, developing more useful financial reports and enhancing internal controls.
