Second Annual Virginia Half-Shell Oyster Tasting
Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association and Kelsick Specialty Market announce the Second Annual Virginia Half-Shell Oyster Tasting, to be held from 1 - 4 pm on Saturday November 12, 2011. Fresh oysters from each of six local oyster aquaculture farms will be available for comparative tasting, along with a presentation on how to taste oysters and a demonstration of oyster shucking techniques.

Irene not as strong as feared, but many still without power

Mathews Market Days set for September 9-10
Mathews Market Days will be held on the Courthouse Green in the heart of Mathews Court House on Friday, September 9, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, September 10, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
On Saturday evening the annual Street Dance will be from 8-11 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
