Christmas Friends kicks off 28th year
Christmas Friends Inc. this week kicked off its 28th year helping the less fortunate of Middlesex County, and Santa’s helpers will have to work quickly in 2013 to meet an earlier than usual deadline. The gifts this year will be delivered on Saturday, December 14.

A 90-foot-long barge has been on the bottom of Urbanna Creek since March 2012. The barge removal is expected to be on VMRC’s agenda on December 10 and be considered by the nine members of the commission, said Bull.

Middlesex County voters approved a food and beverage (meals) tax referendum Tuesday by a surprisingly large margin—2,168 (56.84%) in favor and 1,646 (43.16%) against. The Meals Tax Referendum won a majority of votes in all seven county voting precincts.
