Technology, education, teamwork help sheriff’s investigators make arrests
In 2016 the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office (MSO) made a total of 277 arrests, which includes 112 “serious” crimes such as felonies and 165 less serious crimes, mostly misdemeanors. Middlesex averaged the second highest number of inmates at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center in Saluda in 2016, said Middlesex Sheriff David P. Bushey.

Solar energy: a rising star
imageSolar energy got a boost on August 1 when the Middlesex Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved a zoning amendment that would allow solar energy facilities in Resource Husbandry (RH) districts. Resource Husbandry districts are agricultural and the new amendment allows solar energy facilities to be permitted in RH only by special exception that can be granted by the BOS.

Deltaville woman’s death investigated as homicide
The investigation into the death of a 61-year-old Deltaville woman entered its third week as multiple law enforcement agencies combine efforts, said Middlesex Sheriff David P. Bushey on Tuesday, July 25.
