To avoid the doldrums typical of the post-holiday season, the Urbanna Business Association and the Middlesex Family YMCA have come up with a plan that’s going to be huge fun for everyone on Saturday, February 15.

Great Decisions is a national, civic education program organized under the auspices of the Foreign Policy Association that encourages participants to learn about U.S. foreign policy and global issues and discuss differing viewpoints in a group setting.
Green honored by museum
Kenzie Lawson Green has been honored by the National Museum of Medicine and Arts at Chicago while pursuing a master’s degree in science in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Black History Month topic: ‘Search for African-American Cemeteries’
A Black History Month program will be held Saturday, February 8, at 11 a.m. at the Historic Middlesex County Courthouse on General Puller Highway in Saluda. William and Mary anthropologist Michael Blakey will talk about his “Remembering Slavery, Resistance and Freedom Project” and its search for historic African-American cemeteries throughout Virginia.
