Urbanna Parade winners named
The annual Urbanna Christmas Parade on Friday, December 4, attracted one of the largest crowds in the event’s history, said event coordinator Lois Jean Brooks. The line of children to visit with Santa was especially long and it took 90 minutes for all of them to wait their turn to see ol’ St. Nick.
Deadrise takes shape at maritime park
The progress on the museum’s first new deadrise construction project can be viewed every day during the maritime park’s dawn-to-dusk open hours. The Boat Shop is on the museum’s waterfront at Mill Creek.
New publication celebrates heritage of bay watermen
“Chesapeakeville” is a new monthly publication dedicated to the preservation of the culture and heritage of Chesapeake Bay watermen, boat builders and others who are a part of the bay’s seafood heritage.
‘Spence & Beane’ to perform at West Point church
Mei-Li Beane and Matthew Spencer will perform Sunday, December 13, at 4 p.m. at Old St. John’s Church in West Point as part of the church’s 2015-16 concert series.
