As the week and month draw to a close the excitement of the Oyster Festival prevails. Some plan to go to Urbanna as they have for many years, and some have decided the festival has gotten too large and too much trouble to park.

As her community service project, Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Sarah Ann Goodrich chose to raise money for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.
Messano CD release concert is Saturday in Deltaville
Bobby Messano, nine times first-round Grammy nominee and Blues Hall of Fame inductee, brings his full tilt boogie blues style to the waterfront park stage at the Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park this Saturday, October 26. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the performance is from 6-8 p.m.
‘Crawl-O-Ween’ is Saturday in Urbanna
The Urbanna Business Association (UBA) is planning a “Crawl-O-Ween” (Halloween pub crawl) event from 7 p.m.-midnight on Saturday, October 26. There will be dinner specials at all restaurants starting at 5 p.m.
Bethpage campers raise $3,600 for charities with Golf Cart Poker Run
A Golf Cart Poker Run organized by the seasonal campers at Bethpage Camp-Resort near Urbanna, recently raised $3,600 for the pediatric cancer foundation Mini’s Mission, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
