‘In Service to Their Country’ book signing set for July 5
On Saturday, July 5, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. retired U.S. Navy Capt. Alexander G. “Sandy” Monroe will be at the Middlesex County Museum & Historical Society Inc. at 777 General Puller Highway in Saluda for a book signing.
RivahFest is Saturday
The 12th Annual RivahFest will be held from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, in downtown historic Tappahannock. Food, music, arts and crafts, games and much more will be featured. Please note that only pedestrian traffic will be permitted in the RivahFest area.
Brad Parks nominated for Shamus Award
Middlesex County author Brad Parks has once again been nominated for a Shamus Award by a panel of judges from the Private Eye Writers of America. Parks was shortlisted, along with four other authors, in the category of Best Hardcover Novel for his 2013 book, “The Good Cop.”
Rock ‘n’ reggae mix it up at June 28 Groovin’ concert
Lots of two’s will be at the “Groovin’ in the Park” concert on Saturday, June 28, at the Deltaville Maritime Museum’s Waterfront Park—two different music genres, “rock and roll” and “reggae,” two well-known and popular local bands, “Stuck on a Name” and “33 East,” two bands for the price of one.
