Seven high school seniors seek title of 2017 Urbanna Oyster Festival Queen
imageUrbanna Oyster Festival Queen contestant Tiarah Hayes and her Little Miss Spat Tatiana Washington united together to uplift and empower young girls in their community with the “I am Loving Me” project. With all of the standards set for females in today's society, Hayes felt it is extremely important for girls to learn and understand the power and beauty that they, as females, hold.

Holly Point Market at maritime park Sept. 23
Shopping for fresh local produce, goat cheese and eggs, homemade bread, Whitley peanuts, handwoven items, handcrafted earrings, natural soaps, homemade soups, honey, Greek pastries, art, outdoor furniture or photography will be easy on Saturday, September 23, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Holly Point Market at the Deltaville Maritime Museum.

Troy Hedspeth to be featured performer at Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry

Summer Cheers Concert is Saturday in White Stone
The next Summer Cheers Concert will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, and will feature Paige Melton and "Planet Full of Blues" at the Allure Art Center's outdoor event grounds.
