Scary Halloween due Tuesday at maritime park
Yes, Halloween this year is on what we will call “Terrible Tuesday” and, ready or not, the goblins, ghouls, ghosties, and z-z-z-zombies are beginning to stir and moan in the “Wailin’ Woods” and “Field of Screams” out at the Maritime Park.

Hospital to provide free blood checks for diabetes
Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital (BSRGH) and the Northern Neck Family YMCA are providing free glucose, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings on Monday, November 6, from 9-11 a.m. at the Northern Neck YMCA in Kilmarnock in honor of November being National Diabetes Month.

Festival Queen contestant helps stressed animals find good homes
imageTogether, Oyster Festival Queen contestant Kimberly Price and her Little Miss Spat contestant Claire Dise helped the Middlesex Animal Shelter, which is a very small shelter at Cooks Corner that is in need of as many supplies and funds as it can get.
