Community projects of Festival Queen contestants
imageAs the Oyster Festival has evolved over the years, so has the selection of the Queen and Little Miss Spat. It originally was a type of beauty pageant, but is now a scholarship competition for the Queen contestants, who also must complete a community service project.

Sacred music traditions at ‘Roots’ music fest

Custom cars sparkle at Water View show
imageBefore they were called Hot Rods, custom cars made to go fast were known as “home builts,” said Lat Spinney of White Stone. Spinney’s latest home-built creation replicates the look of a board track roadster that used to race on the indoor one-eighth mile oval tracks.
