Festival time is here!
Oysters, prepared with flair, will be everywhere; from bare on the half shell to warmed in stews or “sandwiched” in fritters. Hundreds of visitors will “Lion up” to get those famous oyster fritters, freshly handmade by the Middlesex Lion’s Club.
Kiwanis Club proceeds benefit the community
The Middlesex Kiwanis Club sponsors numerous activities in the schools and community to support the youth of Middlesex County. The Urbanna Oyster Festival provides this organization and many others the ability to give back to the community.

Urbanna woman finds hospitality and parallels in China
Last March, this Beijing TV show appearance was a result of the fact I was a tall-ish, red-haired, freckly American living in China. During my 14 months there, this was my ticket to getting interviews with scholars, lots of free stuff (like dinners and language lessons), and an endless stream of “hellos,” stares and smiles.
