Dogs exposed to rabies are still missing
Two Chocolate Labrador Retrievers that came in contact with a rabid raccoon in Deltaville on May 18 have not been located, said Middlesex Chief Animal Control Officer Ricky Warren on Tuesday.
Art on Fishing Bay will spotlight historic vessel
Art on Fishing Bay, one of Middlesex County’s premier art shows, has teamed up again with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on this 11th anniversary year of the Southern Chesapeake Leukemia Cup series. The art show and sale will be Friday, June 5, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Fishing Bay Yacht Club (FBYC) in Deltaville. There will be 20 local and regional exhibiting artists.
‘Groovin’ in the Park’ concerts begin Saturday
“Groovin’ in the Park,” begins this Saturday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. with “Jumbo Lump Daddy and the Backfin Boys.” This popular genre-defying group will perform in the museum’s new Waterfront Park, overlooking picturesque Mill Creek.
Monthly art series planned in Urbanna
Representatives of the Commonwealth and Virginia non-profit groups are holding seminars urging small communities to use art to help enliven their downtowns, provide enjoyment for local residents, and attract visitors. In that vein, local artist H. Trainor Roden and businessman Lawrence Fuccella are enlisting Middle Peninsula artists in a rotational art offering in Urbanna, “Café Art.”
